What others say about Windermere

30/07/2015.
Having had my mother in a much larger rest home it was very difficult for her to settle as she became very anxious and was not coping. I transferred her into Windermere Rest Home and she settled in very quickly.
The atmosphere in this very friendly rest home is relaxed and the staff are very caring and compassionate.
Thank you Carol and Norm and your wonderful staff for giving Mum a lovely safe home.

Windermere is a wonderful place when the time comes for your elderly relative to go into care. All the staff, from cooks to caregivers are friendly and know all the residents by name. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and there is a lot to be said for a smaller care facility where the staff are always on hand , and never too busy to help with the residents needs. I would highly recommend Windermere Rest Home.

Thought it would be difficult for my mother to settle into rest home
care. But you all did brilliant job of smoothing out her adjustment. To the point she has said she does not want to leave or be moved to another rest home. That speaks volumes for you and your staff".

“I personally have no complaints and know ---- receives the best possible care. I am well informed as to his general health/changes. He is always neatly dressed, staff are patient/kind and always address him politely. When people of the public ask me about Windermere I always recommend it as top in Cambridge. Thank you Norman, Carol and staff for providing such a welcoming home".

“The bosses and staff are wonderful".

“My mum... [can require extra attention], but I admire the way they cope with this. Windermere has a homely atmosphere, which the bigger Resthomes don't have"

“We have total confidence in all Staff at Windermere Home"

“Windermere Staff are very caring in the care of my relative. Windermere has a very family friendly atmosphere"

“I always feel welcome at Windermere and feel the residents are well cared for and treated"

“If I have a concern I always inform Carol or Norman – they listen to me and investigate any concerns – always inform me of outcome"

I think Windermere is a lovely place. I like to sit and knit for people in poorer countries while watching sky sport on the tv, I love all sports.
The food is marvelous, I have never once had to send any back, I love the food. We have entertainers come to play guitar, piano, singers, a concert. We have a variety of pets come and see us . We get interesting people bring in their old cars for us to look at, we even had a horse recently.
We go out on trips to interesting places , like the beach , shopping, feed the ducks, sometimes I go out other times I don'
Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, I couldn't get better..

I have been a resident at Windermere Rest Home for one year now. From the moment I walked into Windermere I was stunned by the cleanliness and it also smelt clean. I have found the staff and management aware of all our needs, although sometimes a little slow we have to realize this is not a 5 star hotel. I have found the staff always obliging to my needs, and always have a smile when it is needed. The food is well cooked, and there is plenty of it. When I first came I was told that I am here to keep me out of hospital, which is what Windermere Rest Home has done.
We all go through the stage of growing old, it can cause worry and doubt, but because of the care and attention here , I have none of these.

Windermere Rest Home is very clean, I am never hungry, there is always plenty of home cooked food on offer. Everybody is nice and friendly, like a family, we sort out any problems we have together. I like the range of activities we do at Windermere, and the trips out in the van. We also have animal visitors such as rabbits ,dogs,a resident cat called Gerry ,and even a horse comes to say hello. Windermere Rest Home is wonderful. The tucker is good and I don't have to do the housework. I like everything about the place, the rooms are good and the people, It's brilliant ,no complaints at all. The food is well cooked and presented.
When I first came to Windermere my son took me round all of the the rest homes for a look , some very new and modern and huge, this one was small and friendly. I made the best choice.I am very happy here.
