Personal, family orientated care home, Cambridge
Activities Programme
Our Activities Coordinator develops a stimulating and meaningful Activity Programme for each of our Residents in co-operation with other members of the health care team. Each programme involves the development, restoration and maintenance of cognitive, physical and emotional human functions and it provides a wide variety of interesting activities for the Resident.
Activities that are stimulating and meaningful enhance motivation as well as promoting a positive outlook, and reinforce feelings of self esteem, encouraging social interaction and co-operation and stimulating pride in achievement and ultimately improve their quality of life.
Each Individual Activity Programme takes into account the Resident's own unique needs and preferences. The programme includes a creative component, an intellectually stimulating component, group activities, individual activities, social contact outside the facility, and community involvement.
At Windermere we are able to undertake a range of planned activities and ensure that our environment, staff skill base and equipment are appropriate to meet a wide variety of needs. We offer a minimum of 25 hours of planned activities each week.
Our Meals
All or meals are prepared fresh daily on site by our dedicated team of cooks.
We accommodate all likes and dislikes and operate a four weekly rolling menu. Dinner is served at night. Our dining area is divided into two separate areas to ensure that all residents can dine in comfort and retain dignity at all times. The smaller area allows those who require assistance with eating, the privacy they need.
Day Care and Respite Care
Private paying or funded day care is available to relieve the main carer during the daytime. We also run a pick-up and drop off service if needed. The visitor is free to join in the days activities and have meals while they are here.
Respite care is available for short or longer term depending on bed availability.
Please feel free to get in touch if you think this may be of interest to yourself or a family member.
